PORTRAITS and PHOTOJOURNALISM
Except for the list of requested posed portraits established by the bride and groom during the planning session, photojournalism is the theme of the day. The posed photographs may be done in the church, at an outdoor location, at the bride's home or as classic portraiture with a hand-painted canvas background. Examples of all are available at the studio. Rick has years of experience with all of these methods .
The coverage may begin at the church, country club or at the bride's home with the story of getting ready for the big day. In the bride's room, there may be special moments including opening a special gift or reading a romantic message.

COVERAGE
Rick understands the importance of your wedding photography. It cannot be repeated and must therefore be done correctly the first time. For most wedding packages, it is typical for 700 or more photographs to be created. Some of these are from the list of requested posed photographs established during the planning session. Many other photographs are from unplanned, unposed things that happen all day long (photojournalism). Rick and his assistant cover the day so well that there will be many beautiful, sensitive and exciting photographs from which to chose. Rick includes as many locations as possible such as homes, parks and other favorite places. For most wedding packages there is no time limit and no picture limit.

RECEPTION LIGHTING
THIS IS WHERE PHOTOJOURNALISM KICKS INTO HIGH GEAR! The reception is not the place for posed pictures! AND all day long, Rick NEVER attaches a flash to his cameras for any photograph and this makes all the difference. Flash units are used however flash does not come from the camera. All flash units are placed away from the camera, sometimes far from the camera. The resulting images look more like something from a movie. At the reception, most of the time no one even knows the pictures are being taken!! It's the real fun just as it happens with all the special people of your life. Off-camera lighting is a lot more work but results in spectacular reception images of all the fun and excitement. Rick has a SIX-LIGHT SYSTEM for lighting his photojournalism at the reception. Rick uses small radio-controlled flash units well hidden around the reception facility on tall stands. These flash units are weaker than the guests camera flashes so no one even notices these lights. This kind of lighting allows every part of the room, all the faces and all the expression to be seen. The difference is quite remarkable and the pictures, both black and white and color, look like 3-D!
See these and other wedding day images as perfectly detailed 16x20 display images at the studio.

PREMIER SHOWING
Rick shows wedding originals not as proofs, but as huge wall-portrait-sized images on a Sony Bravia 46 inch HD TV with music. The families of the bride and groom are invited to enjoy the Premier Showing too. The Premier Showing is a wonderful way for everyone to share the joy of seeing the images that will become the memories of a lifetime.
With Rick's system, every image in your wedding album can be properly cropped, properly sized, color corrected, retouched and art worked with scene enhancements and body shaping to be an original work of art! What a storybook of the most important people of your life! And the production process is amazingly fast. The premiere showing can take place as soon as ONE DAY following your wedding day. And Rick has done this several times, usually for out-of-town couples. The custom-made album can be ready in as soon as six or seven weeks. For some packages, the album is ready approximately three weeks from the wedding day. Production time for studios using proofs is often months longer.
